After a magical concert at the packed venue of the National Observatory of Athens, the music group Asterismyth will take to the stage of Half Note Jazz Club on Wednesday, November 26th, to present the entire album Asterismyth - Music about the Constellations and Mythical Figures, as well as new unreleased material.
The project of composer and pianist Stefanos Kozanis is inspired by Greek mythology and constellations, creating a sonic universe where jazz, classical music and Greek tradition meet narrative, poetry and song. Each composition tells the story of a constellation and the mythical personage that accompanies it - from Perseus, Andromeda and Cassiopeia to other ghostly figures of the sky.
Line-up:
The album has already received very positive reviews, both in Greece and abroad:
"There are no real flaws within this album, as each song takes you on a wonderful journey that will keep you enthralled and excited to travel through the cosmos."
- Grace Bradford, Music Review World
"A different album from Asterismyth and Stefanos Kozanis, which treats honor in the field of Greek jazz and beyond."
- Fontas Troousas, LIFO
"I haven't really heard a pure jazz work with such a concept in many years. [...] Only the constellations are left for us to believe."
- Antonis Boscoitis, Documento
